Take turns drawing one line between two dots. Close a box and it is yours, and you draw again. The most boxes wins.
Own more boxes than the other side once every line is drawn.
Take turns drawing one line between two dots next to each other, across or down. Draw a box’s fourth side and the box is yours, and you draw again; a line that closes no box passes the turn. When every line is drawn, the most boxes wins.
A line that makes a box’s third side hands that box to the other side, and often the boxes beside it too. Late in the game every line does: then hand over as few as you can.
Board is 3 × 3, 4 × 4 (to start) or 6 × 6 boxes. Who draws first swaps every game (with a friend the first game’s is drawn at random).
Computer sets how well it plays (Medium to start). Easy closes a box when it sees one, most of the time, and otherwise draws anywhere; Medium closes every box it can and keeps from handing one over while it can; Hard also, once every line hands boxes over, hands over the fewest. Board and Computer are for the next game while one is on.
Send a friend the link (Copy link) and play from two browsers, on the board you had picked. Games won counts both sides’ wins.
Tap between two dots to draw the line there (it waits dotted under the pointer). Next game, or Enter, starts the next one once a game is over.
A game against the computer is kept in this browser with the games won. A friend’s game goes through a small server that checks every line, and forgets the game a day after the last one.
