I’m in it
Five officers, downtown Boca Raton and the radio. Send the right officer to each call before it runs out, and keep the city on your side for ten shifts.

Calls
Get through ten shifts with the city’s trust. Answer the calls before they run out, catch the suspects who run, and don’t let the trust fall under 20 at a shift’s end.
Downtown Boca Raton as it is: its streets (the one-way ones too, so a car goes round the right way), its buildings and its places, from OpenStreetMap, painted from straight above. The precinct is the city’s own police headquarters; the calls come from its shops, restaurants, banks, offices, homes and parks. Or the Classic map: our own city of thirty-five blocks, the precinct and its lot in the middle. Map picks one before a game starts; the Classic map to start.
A call comes in over the radio, on the map and in the list, with the time left to get there: a break-in, a mugging, a fender bender, a robbery or a fight. A call nobody reaches in time is missed.
Pick a call, on the map or in the list. The card shows the nearest free officer and how far away they are; pick another officer to send them instead, then Send. The car drives the streets with its lights and siren and works the call when it gets there; the ring round the call fills as the work is done.
A suspect may still be there. One who runs is chased on foot along the sidewalks; a robber may drive off, and the car gives chase through the streets until he pulls over (a second car helps). Caught, he is cuffed and taken to the precinct to be booked, and the officer is free again after. A suspect who gets away costs a little trust.
Each officer is good at one thing: Cengiz drives fast, Hannah keeps on a car she chases, Daniel is on foot and quick to run, Paul breaks up fights, James often finds who did a break-in even when nobody ran. Officers tire as they work and rest at the precinct; a tired officer is slower.
After each shift a report: the calls answered, the arrests, the time to arrive, the trust, the evening paper. The city pays more the more it trusts you; spend it on a shift off for a worn-out officer, a dented car fixed, or a new officer.
Drag the city to look round, or tap the map in its corner; ↑ ← ↓ → or W A S D look round too. 1 to 6 pick an officer, Enter sends, Esc lets go. Enter plays or resumes; P pauses. The speaker beside Play turns the sound on or off.
The game between shifts is kept in this browser (the next shift, the trust, the budget, the arrests, your officers’ energy, a hire, a dented car), and so are the most shifts you have got through. A shift in play is not kept: a reload starts it again. New game starts over. Sound’s choice and the map you picked are kept too.
